These 12mm diameter PYREX® gas dispersion tubes have a coarse porosity (40 to 60 µm) fritted cylinder and are used to disperse or scrub gas in liquids. The size of gas bubbles depends upon the porosity of the fritted cylinder and the liquid used. The finer porosity discs give smaller bubbles, however greater gas pressure is required. The 12mm O.D. fritted cylinder permits insertion through small openings. Product Family Description:
These immersion tubes have a 30 mm diameter medium porosity (10 µm to 15 µm) fritted disc and are particularly useful for drawing off the supernatant liquid from a precipitate. They are made from Code 7740 borosilicate glass. Any precipitate which might be disturbed will be held on the filter. Solid chemicals, made in a beaker or flask, can be filtered and washed without being transferred.
